Go with bluer reds

2020年4月24日
There have been several researches and surveys on the colour and some of them even suggest that sports judges award more points to players in red; women who wear red dresses on their first dates are more likely to still be in that relationship; plus, if you’re wearing red as a singleton, you’re more likely to get that date in the first place. This colour family is symbolic of power and wealth as we all know and it has several social connotations too. “There is a powerful emblematic message to wearing a red dress,” says designer Gautam Gupta, adding, “It is ambiguous, yet universal. Beware of clashing your accessories, though. Far from tapping into its connotations of anger or blind lust, I have celebrated it as a mood-lifter, a heightened state of emotion, clinically proven to enhance our ability to take in detail. So in that sense, red is man’s first shade, both in visuals and vernacular landscape. Now if we look further back in history and trace the evolution of mankind, we would quickly notice that the hue was also one of the first pigments to have been used in art, by cavemen grinding ochre, vermilion and cinnabar for their daubs. In Hebrew, its etymology is the same as the word ‘Adam’ and in ancient Aztec it means simply ‘colour’. This is the colour block trend which is in vogue. Red lips would be too matchy but no one is stopping you if you want to go all the way. Fiery red is a mood elevator.”
Beside the social nuances, designer Sheena Aggarwal shares that red has a powerful quality to enhance the confidence of the person wearing it.Paint the town red with blazing hues of scarlet and spice up your wardrobeNo matter how many we encounter, there is just something about a lady in a red dress that ignites the imagination. It can boost confidence and make you feel more in control.” On the other hand, designer Sheena Agarwaal of Agashe suggests, “Instead of pairing red with the usual black, break the monotony by pairing it with hot pink or even with blue/green. And creative https://www.chinasofafabric.com/product/ warp knitting fabric manufacturers Factory gurus feel it’s the colour of revolution and of blood. Perhaps it’s the pure romance or the memories of salty, sunkissed lusty dream or simply the magic of that moment when a goddess struts down in a powerful scarlet number. But if you are hesitant then step out in black or nude shoes. She adds, “Whatever you choose, keep your hairdo sleek and lips neutral.” Go with bluer reds if your complexion is fair; spicier orange-reds will flatter darker skin, suggests designer Shruti Nijhawan, founder of SoShru.”. “It is the ultimate cure for sadness. Using analogous or complementary colour pairing always makes an outfit more interesting. For the full effect, opt for a frock in true red, dresses with textural details like ruffles, pleats and velvet panels add interest to the monochromatic look without taking away from the hue’s brilliance. Perhaps that’s why we find it so prominently appealing to our collective conscious and get enveloped in emotions and abstracts when we see it.

“The last time I walked for him, I thought that outfit was the heaviest. Fawad walked the ramp for the first time in India. Also, this is the biggest ramp I have ever walked on,” quipped the actress. I was very nervous and out of breath at the ramp. This is much heavier compared to the earlier one...Pakistani star Fawad opened the grand show and was welcomed with loud cheers and applause from the crowd as he walked in a black kurta and deep maroon palazzo-pyjama.The designer presented intricate motifs on 50 limited edition pieces, swathed in deep shades of maroon, emerald green and azure blue. The star also wore a polki-pearl choker and a hath-phool from Hazoorilal by Sandeep Narang.Manish’s design narrative was inspired by the stunning architecture of Persia, blooming paradise of fauna and flora, and fearless royals that ruled their vast kingdoms. Actors Deepika Padukone and Fawad Khan turned out to be the perfect showstoppers for the collection. Manish recreated the magic of Persia by transforming the set into a traditional Persian setting filled with marble motifs, popular Persian chandeliers and a small shamiana (a marquee), which helped the models exiting the ramp. Obviously it was very daunting. Talking about the fabulous showstoppers, Manish said, “I am so thankful to Fawad for being here and dearest Deepika I know her since she was a model and her first film.

Models showcased his collection as they walked to the tunes of authentic Persian music.Actors Deepika Padukone, Fawad Khan and designer Manish Malhotra along with models walk the ramp at the India Couture Week 2016 in New Delhi on Wednesday. I love Persian architecture, I like the colour schemes of Persia, music and that was a concept I had in my mind and that’s how it got generated. The collection saw a wide range of heavily-embellished hand-woven gold embroidery adorn sheer and velvet fabrics, lehengas with sheer tops, opulent velvet jackets over cigarette trousers, exquisite gowns and regal sherwanis and sequinned dresses which featured elaborate architectural, floral motifs and check shirts and achkans. Asked if it was his first time on the ramp in Delhi, Fawad quickly replied, “In Delhi for the first time In India for the first time. Kaftan by Raseel GujralWhile kaftans have become a new craze this season, one can slay the day in this easy breezy silhouette by styling it perfectly. He suggests, “Pick up a long, short or mid-length kaftan according to the kind of event and complete the look by pairing it with a trouser pant, shorts or leggings. The designers add, “The whole concept of wearing a kaftan is to be at comfort, yet matching the aesthetics of the event that you are going to attend. If you want to get dressed for a casual day at work, wear a pair of flats to save the day and be comfortable all day. Jewelled sandals with heels will help make a chic statement and add to the luxury factor. While for an evening cocktail party look, we would suggest to tie up your hair in a messy bun and flaunt it with beautiful long earrings along with a pair of heels that add bling to your outfit.”Kaftans look great on almost all women, no matter their shape or size, and help hide any parts of the body you would not like to be accentuated. Flaunt your curves by adding a belt, matching earrings and carry an oversized purse/clutch for a perfect cocktail party look. Bringing in, an unrestricted yet elegant look, kaftans have become popular among all age groups, highlights designer Varun Bahl.”Fashion loves the ‘70s right now, from dressing up for a long day at work to attending a cocktail party, kaftans are the new go-to outfit. Designer Pooja Shroff explains how to nail the look, and says, “If you are into boho chic, pop on a pair of flat sandals (Ancient Greek style is excellent but any leather piece will do), add a soft shoulder handbag, and a pair of large sunglasses. Choose rayon, georgette, satin or silk for a more formal event, such as an evening party. To jazz it up, make it more appropriate for formal occasions, opt for more fitted designs and choose a piece made of silk or another luxurious fabric. It can be styled with beads, matching bold bangle and bags for a summer outing with friends.

With the right accessories, you can do justice by transforming the kaftans and make it look like a whole new different outfit. For a casual outing, you can look trendy by wearing a mid-length kaftan dress with sneakers and a sling bag.”. A variant of the robe or tunic, kaftans are not just fancy beach cover-ups for your swimwear but also a symbol of royal style in many cultures. Usually weaved in wool, cashmere, silk, or cotton – kaftans can actually be worn by both genders as a loose-fitting garment or layered as a jacket over a delicate inner outfit. It is an option which is dressy enough yet easy to discard while getting into the pool.”Jessica AlbaWhile choosing the fabric for your kaftan, remember that a kaftan made of silk, cotton or another natural fabric is definitely a great pick for a casual outing. If you are wondering what could be that one item in the wardrobe that would work for all body shapes, occasions and weather conditions – then look no further, and invest in a beautiful kaftan to sail through this season in style. Our fabric heritage spans the country, and no matter where we’re from, I think all of us have grown up with at least one tactile memory, my own favourite being the softness of my grandmother’s silk sarees that she wore with such ease, and even further back, the fantastically intricate tatted and crocheted pieces my great-grandma dotted our home with.

One should not be surprised to find Indians, specially the desi millennials, travelling through some of most remote regions of the world. This hotel, another long-time favourite of Indians, shares the same restaurants with 51 Buckingham Gate — Quilon, BANK, Bistro, Hampton’s Bar, and so on. Indian travellers are today exploring Atlantic cruises, polar holidays, remote corners of Southeast Asia, Latin America or other less-traversed locations. From the mark of tyres on the flooring to the Jaguar print on the wall upholstery, to the many Jaguar logo, each and every small detail has been dedicated to the Jaguar car. James’ Taj, make sure that you try the samosa chaat at Hampton’s Bar and say hello to Naveen.

It was morning and I saw a group of about 10 people having uttapam. The hotel’s head concierge, David Burner, who is no more there, always used to say with pride that he has been associated with this Indian hotel brand https://www.chinasofafabric.com China supply velvet upholstery fabric manufacturers for 30 years. The whole courtyard has been changed into a beautiful garden with barbecues. The last time I went to the BANK restaurant the regular coffee shop Bistro was under renovation. Guests will find references to masters like Satyajit Ray, Francis Ford Coppola and Ingrid Bergman in the imposing study, world cinema leaders like Majidi, Wong Kar-Wai and Almodovar amongst the cultured kitch of the living room and echoes of The Stepford Wives in the kitchen. For that matter, the all-time honeymoon destination — Switzerland — has also become history now.

This allows you to bring in the colour of the year or any dark colour you like a more decorative way. Restrained use of silver and brown metals, like iron and https://www.chinasofafabric.com/product/sofa-fabric/ sofa velvet fabric Factory gold or copper, will bring in the decorative glory of maximalism but with a more understated expression,” sums up interior expert Punam Kalra. Blue doors and window shutters in a neutral-toned space, paired with natural wood tones and blue painted kitchen cabinetry, upholstery, and vases, will make for a serene and elegant space. A modern surface finishing in patina, rust, chrome, mercury glass, champagne and oxygenic iron, used as furniture accents, lighting, and artwork, would give a raw and intimate textural feel to the décor. While blue and gold is a timeless combination when we talk about richness, adding a touch of copper in the form of lights, trimmings, wall decorations or table accessories give your space a contemporary edge, while retaining the warmth and richness quotient. Since it’s a dark colour, it may get overwhelming unless used with the colour palette that balances it. It can also be paired with highlight furniture pieces in lush velvets, silks and satins, modern artworks and green planters to create a further contrast. Don’t be afraid to have fun with patterns in the form of wallpapers or fabrics. These metallic details can also be added in the form of discreet upholstery patterns, lighting details, sleek furniture details, crockery, wall hangings and screens for a more dramatic space with an enhanced ornamental look. She says, “Classic blue can also make for an eye-catching accent wall. It can be incorporated into the décor in a wide array of unique ways ranging from the flooring to the walls to the furniture to the accessories.”A good way to add classic blue to your already existing décor is by using it in soft furnishing and small décor accents like your crystal collection, suggests Raseel Gujral Ansal, creative director and co-founder of an Interior design company. She says, “Pewter colors go very well with classic blue, if you are inclining towards creating a warm relaxing effect, use tones of blue with white – a classic.

A combination of blue with neutral earthy tones and tonal colors like bold shades of terracotta, burnt orange, ochre and buttery tan, along with striking tactile textures effortlessly add an organic artistic vibe to the rooms, offering a modern and chic design language, highlights Punam Kalra, an interior designer. For a bolder, eccentric look, the entire room can follow a blue monochrome palette, appropriately balanced by subtle detailing and neutral colors. A combination of blue and deep forest tones in the furniture can create a fresh natural look further elevating the modern Zen ambiance of the room. Gunmetal and gold embellishments make an apt pick with hues like classic blue. You can create a very dreamy theme using shades of classic blue and by using experimental motifs. “Delicate detailing in metallic shades, in combination with the Pantone colour of the year, can uplift a fairly subdued space lending it that subtle touch of luxury. Classic Blue can also be paired with the Pantone colour of 2019, living coral, as an accent colour in combination with neutral whites to create a chic, dreamy ambiance. Using luminous metallic fabrics for furniture is another fantastic way to capture the light and add a new contemporary warmth and sheen to the room. A combination of blue and warm-toned colors, layered with rugs, throws, blankets, and quirky accessories make for an eye-catching living room. Go a step ahead and paint your old wardrobe/furniture or simply re-upholster the sofa or add an accent chair in blue velvet, says Pooja Khanduja, co-founder of an Interior design company. The confident, regal and calming classic blue has been named as the Pantone Colour of the year for 2020. She says, “Accessories in classic blue along with pastel and muted shades of pink, green and lilac can give the space a delicate hint of cheery pop and modern vintage glamour. Though neutral colors like grays and beiges are a safe bet, classic blue teams great with pop colour accents too – like a yellow, orange or even hot pink. We speak to interior experts to elaborate on how to work it with an edgy touch. Blue goes well with black as well and can be played within combination with various colour tones and shimmer to create a bold look for the living room and the kitchen space. Blue is an accommodating shade and works well with an assorted choice of sheen in silver, rose gold, copper, steel, tin, and brass. Classic blue is an elegant, sophisticated yet luxurious colour.” A classic blue vanity or highlight wall can also add interest to an otherwise neutral bathroom. The use of blue gives a very magical and relaxing feel to ambience. A bold blue accent wall with innovative nature-inspired motifs, along with a combination of big, bold, bright colors like red and yellow in abstract art, carpets, wall reliefs, tiles, wallpapers, linen, and upholstery create a dynamic and vibrant interior.”The easiest way to incorporate the classic blue to your home is by adding accessories like throws, cushions or a rug.

Don https://www.chinasofafabric.com/product/curtain-fabric/ Wholesale curtain velvet suppliers in china assume that a rug has to be in a rectangular shape. This enables the back legs of the chairs to stay on the rug, even when pulled out to let someone sit. Rugs brighten up a room adding warmth and comfort for those who walk, sit and sometimes lie on the rugs. After all, it's much easier to replace a rug than a whole house of carpet. And if walls and upholstery are fairly subdued, you must try busier pattern or bolder colours to add more interest to the interiors.Right size: Choosing a rug of the right size is very important for a home.Update a room: One can look at changing rugs and pillows of an interior setting to update it for changing seasons, or to introduce new colour trends.Wall décor: Rug can be used as a wall hanging, another way to showcase a rug, or to create a focal point. If the upholstery or wallpaper consists of ornate pattern, select a rug that is subtle in nature.Play with shapes: Let the way you group your furniture spell the shape of your rug.Rugs are an integral part of our home décor, especially in homes with a large proportion of hard flooring.Ensure harmony: If you’re styling the room with more than one rug, it's suggested that the # rugs complement each other. Whereas, when laying a rug under your dining table, leave at least 24" of the rug from the edge of the table out on all sides.

In order to do so, one can create contrast by painting the walls a hue that echoes one of your rug's accent colours. Leaving the floor bare at the edges makes the room look a little larger. If not, there could be an unpleasant effect.Manage the volume: Rugs are usually believed to visually quieten a room or turn up the volume as needed. Too many warring patterns in a room will do away with any sense of harmony.Focal point: Use a rug as the focal point of your room, as rugs make a huge impact. When you buy a room size rug, remember to subtract three feet from the length and width of the room. Always try to figure out which shape would look best, and accordingly opt for a square, oval or round shape rug that complements your furniture arrangement.Create variety: While we place two rugs in a room, be cautious as same sized rugs often visually cut the room in two. This concept is most useful in larger rooms or studio apartments that need definition.(The writer is CEO & Co-founder, Bent Chair).Always use a liner to keep your rug from slipping or creeping. The rug liner should be appropriate as per your floor type, and also the right size to fully keep the rug from sliding. Below are a few fascinating ways to spice up your abode with rugs:Outline areas with rugs: Using a rug, one can define or separate areas for dining and seating, and foyers. One must consider using rugs of different sizes to generate a sense of variety. Once you have the furniture in place, you can accordingly use the rug to accent or tie in your existing colours.Colour scheming: Place a favourite rug as the basis of the colour scheme in the room.

The mail is addressed to Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena (one of the four partners at Phantom Films), Vivek Bajrang Agrawal, head of production and Tanvi Gandhi, line producer. In the mail, it appears that Prerna was not happy with the accommodation given to her and that her request for a safe, private room with WiFi was not acceded to by Phantom as they “wanted to save money”. A leaked email from the film’s editor, Prerna Saigal, to the production house Phantom, shows that she was angry with the team not providing her proper accommodation while she was in New York, working on the film. She told them that the Bombay Velvet footage was safe even as she upbraided them for not heeding her concerns. After the burglary incident, it is believed that Prerna sent a strongly worded mail to Phantom Productions https://www.chinasofafabric.com/product/sofa-fabric/ China sofa velvet fabric exclusive copies of which are available on our Deccan Chronicle website on December 4.

It is thanks to Bombay Velvet director Anurag Kashyap’s Martin Scorsese connection that the film was being edited in the US, by Scorsese’s longtime editor Thelma Shoonmaker. Apparently, the house that she was put up in (and which seems not to have met with her requirements) was burgled in December and several of Prerna’s valuables, including her iPad, were stolen. “The things I have lost and time I have spent unnecessarily isn’t fair,” Prerna’s mail further states. It would seem that all is not well with the Bombay Velvet team. The hard disk on which Bombay Velvet was stored, however, was not taken.
